Is this the right sewing class for you?
This Atelier is ideal for sewists who:
Are beyond complete beginner (If you are an absolute beginner we recommend to do one of our workshops to get familiar with a machine or book a 1:1 session before joining)
Already understand how a sewing machine work
Want novice, intermediate to advanced sewing lessons
Value expert garment construction feedback
Appreciate a refined studio environment
Not a beginner sewing class.
Not casual crafting.
This is intentional garment construction.
Private lessons vs Atelier
Private one-on-one sewing lessons remain available in limited capacity for sewists wanting fully dedicated support.
The Atelier offers the same high-level expertise in a structured small-group studio format over 4hrs instead of 2hrs as 1:1
Both are premium sewing education experiences.
The format differs.

Your place is reserved only for the dates you confirm.
-
The Atelier is not designed for absolute beginners.
You should be comfortable:
• Setting up and threading your machine
• Sewing mostly independentlyIf you are unsure whether this is suitable for you, please mention your experience in the application form.
-
The guidance carries the depth of a private lesson, but within a curated small-group studio format.
Each sewist works on their own project and receives personalised guidance.
Private one-on-one sessions remain available in limited capacity for those seeking fully dedicated support.
-
Single sessions may be available if space permits.
However, the Atelier is designed for structured progress, and a minimum of three sessions is recommended.

All bookings are non-refundable once confirmed.
As Atelier places are limited and carefully curated, your seat is reserved exclusively for you.
If you need to adjust a booked session, you may reschedule with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice, subject to availability within the same Atelier month by contacting us at hello@sewonandsowforth.com.
Rescheduled sessions must be used within the same month or two weeks. As the month progresses and sessions fill, alternative dates may not always be available.
We recommend committing only to dates you are confident you can attend.
-
In the unlikely event of unforeseen circumstances, Sew on and Sew Forth reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a session. This may include, but is not limited to:
• Instructor illness
• Venue-related issues
• Unexpected disruptions beyond our controlIf a session is rescheduled, participants will be notified as soon as possible with a new date and time.
In the rare event that a session is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be issued for unused sessions only.
No refunds will be provided for completed sessions.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.
For any concerns, please contact hello@sewonandsowforth.com.
-
It is not possible to guarantee completion within a fixed number of sessions.
Each sewist works at a different pace, learns differently, and brings a different level of experience to their project. The complexity of the garment, fabric choice, and fit adjustments all influence how long construction will take.
It is similar to working with a music teacher. No teacher can guarantee exactly how long it will take a student to master a piece. Progress depends on the individual.
The Atelier is designed to provide structured guidance, technical refinement, and forward momentum.
Quality and understanding are prioritised over rushing to finish.
-
No. Bernina machines are provided, and machine use is included in your session fee.
The Atelier is held at the Bernina Studio and is intentionally designed around these Swiss-engineered machines, known for their precision, reliability, and professional performance.
Working on the same high-quality machines ensures consistency in guidance, smooth session flow, and the best possible sewing experience for all participants.
