Always wanted to learn to sew?
Maybe your machine is still in the box. Maybe you haven't sewn since school. Or maybe you've never sewn at all.
That's perfect. In one day, you'll go from "how do I thread this?" to wearing shorts you made yourself.
What you'll make
Comfy elastic-waist shorts in light cotton block print. Wear them to lounge in around the house or as comfy sleepwear. You choose the print (week before).
What you will learn:
Lay out and cut a pattern the right way
Set up and thread a sewing machine with confidence
Sew straight seams and smooth curves
Learn the French seam and Hong Kong seam finish
Sew in an elastic waistband
Hem like a pro
Fabric selection: Options will be emailed the week before.

This workshop is a Filming Day and is offered at a reduced rate (S$165, usual price S$240) because it will be filmed and photographed.
By booking, I agree that:
Sew on & Sow Forth™ (The Curious Collective) and BERNINA Singapore may film and photograph me, my work and my finished project during the workshop.
These photos and videos may be used, edited and shared on social media, websites, newsletters, online sewing courses and other promotion, now and in the future, with no payment to me.
The reduced Filming Day rate is given in exchange for this consent.

Fee: S$165 in stead of S$240 as our social media team will be taking some video and photos of BTS
(Cost includes all materials and coffee/tea, with a short break during the session.)
Workshops are capped at 8 participants, ensuring a relaxed, personal, and pressure-free atmosphere.
Meet your instructor
Arzelle is a highly experienced fashion designer, mentor, lecturer, and textile artist with over 20 years of expertise in the fashion industry. Having designed bespoke wedding dresses, her own ready-to-wear collections, and taught students at the university level globally, she brings a wealth of technical knowledge and creativity to her teaching.
Now based in Singapore, Arzelle focuses on empowering beginner and intermediate sewists to unlock their potential through approachable, skill-building workshops. Her teaching style blends precision, encouragement, and fun to help participants feel confident and supported at every step of their sewing journey.

I've never touched a sewing machine. Can I join? Yes! This workshop is made for you.
Will the workshop go ahead? It runs with 4 or more people. If I ever cancel, you get a full refund.
Will I be on camera? Yes. This session is filmed and photographed, and that is why it's offered at the Filming Day rate. When you book, you agree that we can use the photos and videos.
I don't want my face shown. Can I still join? I would suggest to join future workshop in 2027.
Where will the photos and videos be used? On Sew on & Sow Forth™, SEWsimple.Method and BERNINA Singapore social media, websites, and newsletters.

Final confirmation
Only after we receive your payment confirmation will you be officially added to the workshop.
Important:
If we do not receive a response within 5 days of our first email, we will assume you no longer wish to participate, and your spot will be released.

Full Refund: If you need to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund if the request is made at least 7 days prior to the start date of the first workshop session.
No Refund: Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the first workshop session will result in the full workshop fee being forfeited.
This policy allows us to secure the venue, equipment, and ensure a great experience for all participants. If you have any concerns or need assistance, feel free to reach out.

In the unlikely event of unforeseen circumstances, Sew on and Sew Forth reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a workshop session. This may include, but is not limited to, instructor illness, venue-related issues, or other unexpected disruptions beyond our control.
If a session is rescheduled, participants will be notified as soon as possible with a new date and time.
In the most unlikely event, if a workshop or session is cancelled, a refund will be issued for any unused sessions only. No refunds will be provided for completed sessions.
