Start 2026 by stepping into a calm and creative space where sewing becomes a form of mindfulness. In this workshop, you’ll begin by learning the basic operations of a sewing machine, followed by a gentle creative journey designed to help you slow down, find inspiration, and connect with your artistic side.
After setting the tone, you’ll learn how to create simple quilted blocks to form a pixel-inspired background — the perfect canvas for your next step: free-motion embroidery. Using thread as your drawing tool, you’ll stitch your own expressive sketch or scene, creating a piece that is uniquely yours.
Beginner friendly, no sewing experience needed.
What you will learn:
• Learn how to set up and operate a sewing machine with confidence (perfect for beginners.)
• Take part in a creative warm-up to find inspiration and set a calm, focused mindset. (don’t worry we guide you through the whole creative process)
• Learn how to create simple patch-quilted blocks to build your background.
• Explore free-motion embroidery, using thread as your drawing tool.
• Design and stitch your own expressive textile artwork, there is no right or wrong, only letting go and being present in the moment.

Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm (extendable to 4:00pm if needed)
Location: Bernina Creative Studio, Singapore
Fee: $160.
Includes all sewing materials and light refreshments (coffee & tea), with a 30min break during the session (hawker centre on level 1 and cafes a block away).
Workshops are capped at 6 participants, ensuring a relaxed, personal, and pressure-free atmosphere.

Meet your instructor
Arzelle is a highly experienced fashion designer, mentor, lecturer, and textile artist with over 20 years of expertise in the fashion industry. Having designed bespoke wedding dresses, her own ready-to-wear collections, and taught students at the university level globally, she brings a wealth of technical knowledge and creativity to her teaching.
Now based in Singapore, Arzelle focuses on empowering beginner and intermediate sewists to unlock their potential through approachable, skill-building workshops. Her teaching style blends precision, encouragement, and fun to help participants feel confident and supported at every step of their sewing journey.

In the unlikely event of unforeseen circumstances, Sew on and Sew Forth reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a workshop session. This may include, but is not limited to, instructor illness, venue-related issues, or other unexpected disruptions beyond our control.
If a session is rescheduled, participants will be notified as soon as possible with a new date and time.
In the most unlikely event, if a workshop or session is cancelled, a refund will be issued for any unused sessions only. No refunds will be provided for completed sessions.
